My entry this month is a Flower Bouquet birthday card.

SUPPLIES USED:

Heartfelt Creations Daisy Patch Bouquet stamp
Heartfelt Creations Daisy Patch stamps
Heartfelt Creations Daisy Patch dies
Impression Obsession Flourishes Stamp
Cardstock: Stampin'Up! Bravo Burgundy, Brown, White
Memento Ink: Black, Brown
Stampin'Up! Stampin' Write Markers: Wild Wasabi, Always Artichoke, Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango, Poppy Parade, Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty In Pink, Rose Red
Glimmer Mist: Sunflower, Black Cherry, Marmalade, Sugar Plum Fairy, Tutti Fruitti, Burnt Red.
Glitter Glass: Rose, Red, Spice Brown, Orchid, Copper, Geode
Prima Pearls & Crystals
Sheer orange organdy ribbon

I used the Stampin'Up! Bravo Burgundy as the base for my 5x7 card. I sprayed a piece of white cardstock with the 6 colors of Glimmer Mist in a random pattern, blotted off the excess and quick-dried it with a heat gun. Then I stamped the Impression Obsession Fourishes background stamp on top with Memento brown ink. I stamped the Heartfelt Creations Daisy Bouquet on white cardstock. On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped 3 small daisies and 2 large daisies. I colored the daisies in the bouquet and the individual daisies with 6 different Stampin' Write marker colors and die cut the 5 individual daisies with the Heartfelt Creations Daisy Patch dies. I popped the 3 small daisies off of their matching colors and popped 2 large daisies, 1 on top of the other, off the single large daisy in the center so it would be 1 layer higher than the 3 small ones. I used different colored glitter glass in the centers of each daisy. I pasted the bouquet card to a brown cardstock background, used 3 sizes of Prima half pearls on the top and bottom of the card, and orange organdy ribbon for the bow.

Quick Fix Note: The reddish daisy on the bottom left of the bouquet was originally a Pumpkin Pie color, but it didn't have enough contrast against the large center flower. I fixed it by coloring over it first with Pretty In Pink, then Rose Red to create a new color. The resulting contrast against the other daisies was perfect.

I hope you liked my card!

Many happy scrappenings,
Anna

May 15, 2011 - First Holy Communion Card

I made this card for my cousin's daughter who had her First Holy Communion this past Saturday May 14.

I used the following supplies:

Metallic Gold cardstock
Bazzil Cardstock "Emma" (Pale Pink)
White Cardstock
Spellbinders Labels 10 (largest size)
Spellbinders Posy Patch dies (Heartfelt Creations exclusive)
Heartfelt Creations Decorative Vintage Cross stamp
Heartfelt Creations Posy Patch Flowers stamps
Cuttlebug Goochie Script 5x7 Embossing Folder
Stampendous Pirate Gold Embossing powder
Stampin'Up! Pink Pirouette Ink
Stampin'Up! White Ribbon
White half pearls

I cut a card 5x7 from the metallic gold cardstock.  I embossed the pink cardstock with the Goochie Script folder and pasted it to the card base.  I stamped the Vintage Cross twice and embossed both images with the Pirate Gold embossing powder.  I die cut one whole cross with the Spellbinders Label 10 and fussy cut just a portion of the other cross.  I inked around the filigree portion of the die cut cross with Pink Pirouette ink.  I pasted the fussy cut cross to a piece of metallic gold cardstock and cut around the cross, leaving about 1/16 of an edge so the gold cardstock would stand out a bit more around the cross.  I used foam tape to pop the cross off the first embossed image.  I embossed and die cut 3 different sizes of posy flowers.  I inked them with the Pink Pirouette ink and popped them off the cross.  I added the ribbon and half pearls to finish the card.

Hope you like it!

Many Happy Scrappenings!

April 2, 2011 - Maya Road BASEBALL FAMILY Chipboard Album

Hello Fellow Scrappers!  As a favor to a friend who's planning to make a Maya Road chipboard album, I'm posting an album I made a couple of years ago.  I made 6 of these albums.  I kept one album and gave 5 as gifts to close relatives as a unique way to send them pictures of our kids.

My husband is a huge Red Sox fan and he's turned our kids into rabid fans as well.  As a California native, of course I'm an Angel fan.  It's been a rivalry made in heaven.  So we went to Sears Portrait Studios for a photo session, and the layout and story evolved from the pictures.

I hope you enjoyed loooking!

Many happy scrappenings,
Anna

Yellow cardstock
Mini calendar, 2-1/2 x 2-1/2
Cork board, 3/16 thick
2 brads in spring colors
2 tacks in spring colors

INSTRUCTIONS
Cut 1 piece of cream colored cardstock and 1 piece of chipboard each 4-1/2 x 4-1/2.  Paste the cardstock to the chipboard, then die-cut the Scallop Square using the Sizzix die.  The resulting piece will be 4-1/4 x 4-1/4.

Punch 2 birds & 2 wings from blue cardstock.  Punch 2 branches and 2 more wings (for leaves) from the green cardstock.  Emboss the leaves with the Lattice embossing folder.  Punch a Boho Blossom from the yellow cardstock.  Ink the edges of everything with a slightly darker shade of whatever color cardstock you're working with to give it definition.  Using a Crop-A-Dile, punch two 1/8 holes on each end of the top of the Scallop Square & put some ribbon through both holes for hanging.  Tie off the ends with a small knot.

Stamp each month on a piece of white cardstock then punch out the months with the Modern Label punch.  Pull off each page of the calendar and glue each stamped month to the appropriate page.  Punch 1/8 holes with your Crop-A-Dile through 4 pages of the calendar on each end of the modern label.  Keep punching holes 4 pages at a time, making sure to line up the holes with the first set of pages.  Put large brads on either end to hold the calendar together.  Glue to the right side of the Scallop Square.  Cut a piece of cork board 1-1/2 x 2-3/4 and glue to the left of the calendar.  Cut a small piece of the Pompom trim and glue to the bottom of the cork board.  Glue the flower onto the cork board in the upper left corner.  Glue one pompom in the center of the Boho Flower.  Put the 2 tacks in the corkboard.

Viola!  You're done!

Thanks for visiting my little corner of the blogosphere to check out my project.  Don't forget to post some love for me before you leave.  Then hop on over to Pat's blog to check out her beautiful creation.

Many Happy Scrappenings!

Seed beads
Seed/bugle/micro bead mixtures
GlitterRitz Microfine Glitter – Ocean Spray
Glitter Glass – Mint Sugar
Glitter Glass – Spearmint Metallic

Martha Stewart Micro Beads – Feldspar

INSTRUCTIONS
I wanted the daisy to be the focal point of my card, so I used shimmery Paper Company cardstock in Seaglass as the accent paper, and embossed a piece of Recollections Precious Metals White with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I cut a small piece of Sookwang Be Creative 2-sided tape and pasted it to a 3x3 piece of white cardstock, then used the Spellbinders die to cut out the large daisy.  I used different media on each petal through a process of masking.  I gently cut through the top layer of the tape’s peel off backing, around the center of the flower, being careful not to cut too deeply into the petals.  Then I peeled the backing off of each petal one at a time to apply the different medias.  I saved the center section for last and applied the 4mm green glass beads.

Please hop over to my friend Linda's blog to see her wonderful creation!

Many Happy Scrappenings!
Anna
